When Rayna Culbert and Ronnie Velazquez stood at the altar yesterday and vowed to spend their lives together something they said struck me profoundly.

They promised--and I believe I'm paraphrasing here--to be each other's "accomplices in mischief." I stopped clicking the shutter for a few moments and listened. That line described this beautiful and gregarious couple so well.

But it impacted me on a deeper level, like a truth you've always known but didn't have the words or the phrasing to say it. I mean, isn't that a quality every human being seeks in a spouse, partner, boyfriend or girlfriend? The ability to share adventures and misadventures and stand, together, against the world and tell it that this soul right here is my accomplice in the mischief--and the merriment--that we make?

That's Rayna and Ronnie. Boisterous. Loving. Gentle. Hilarious. Kind. And mischievous.

I love shooting weddings because of the stories I learn when I work them. Rayna's and Ronnie's wedding was no different. If I take any story away from it--other than the gorgeous backdrops and views we used for their photos--it's that they have discovered in each other whatever piece that once was missing in their lives and that they are now complete. And damn, if they're not gonna cause a little mischief and ruckus while they announce to the world the love they have for each other. How awesome is that?

Rayna and Ronnie, thank you so very much for asking us to capture your wedding day. You guys were a joy and a pleasure to work with and we enjoyed hanging out and meeting your families!
